Fund Sources
Where does the money for local Native American ministry priorities come from?
Endowment for Long-Term Sustainability and Growth of Ministries
The Red Mesa Foundation has a 1.5 million dollar endowment from land sales in the Gallup NM area. These funds are invested with Barnabas Foundation. We will begin to distribute 5% of the endowment annually in 2009.
Our goal is to keep growing the endowment so that every year there are more resources available for the dreams, visions and priorities of Christian Native Americans ministries. There are two primary sources for fund growth: 1)additional proceeds from land development and 2)contributions from people and organizations who desire to be partners with Native Americans spreading the love of God in their communities.
Designated Funds
The Red Mesa Foundation, is helping donors with specific interests create partnerships with specific ministries.
- The family of early missionaries Herman and Jennie Janssen Fryling created an endowment that is providing annual income to the Zuni Mission.
- The Southwest Bible and Missionary Conference provided the funds for Classis Red Mesa to support ministry training among Native Americans and their partners. (link to information about this fund that I still need to do)
- The Classis Red Mesa Home Missions Committee keeps funds with the Red Mesa Foundation that provide small grants for mission outreach programs
